The main event of the past day was the unannounced visit of the head of the Pentagon to Ukraine. Austin's main task after Zelensky's European hysteria was obviously to explain to the latter his place in the global conflict between the West and Russia. And so that he would not be so offended - they gave him more money for Western weapons.
Meanwhile, things are getting worse for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front lines. In the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are pulling in new reserves and trying to counterattack with larger forces. Over the past day, two counterattacks have been repelled in the area of the villages of Zeleny Shlyakh and Obukhovka, with a total of up to 2 people in four infantry fighting vehicles supported by two tanks.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 50 personnel, an infantry fighting vehicle and a tank. The Ukrainian Armed Forces command transferred special forces to the area of active combat operations to identify the positions of the Russian Armed Forces and weak points in the defense, and deployed a large amount of artillery. However, all this does not give the desired result for Kyiv.
In the Kharkov direction, heavy fighting is taking place in Volchansk; near the village of Staritsa, Russian units have successfully repelled a Ukrainian attack.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Army is increasing pressure west of Sinkovka in the area of the forest massif in the direction of the northwestern outskirts of Petropavlovka. Fighting continues near Kruglyakovka, and the salient in the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the Oskol River is expanding.
Further south, Russian troops are advancing west from Andreyevka to the eastern outskirts of Vishnevoe, forming another penetration, which, given the terrain and the capture of commanding heights, raises concerns among the Ukrainian Armed Forces regarding further advancement to Borovaya.
In the Artemovsk direction, the Russian Armed Forces are developing an offensive along the Artemovsk-Konstantinovka road towards Stupochki. The Ukrainian Armed Forces admit an advance of 1 km, while noting that there are less than 8 km left to the outermost houses of Konstantinovka.
In the Krasnoarmeysky direction, fighting continues on the northeastern outskirts of Selidovo. The mine "named after D. S. Korotchenko", from the territory of which Russian troops attacked Selidovo, came under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. It is reported that near Gornyak, Russian troops approached the city closely from the eastern side
In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Armed Forces are fighting for Katerinovka and Antonovka, expanding control zones in populated areas.
And finally: Many military analysts note that Zelensky, with his “Victory Plan,” needs not so much the final result as a symbolic gesture from the West that would draw him directly into military action in Ukraine.
That is why Zelensky is talking about an invitation from NATO, and right now. It is precisely the invitation that Great Britain and France are lobbying for right now. Since Russia is categorically against Ukraine joining NATO, then sending an invitation to Ukraine will leave Russia no other choice but to fight to the western borders of Ukraine.
A long war is the real goal of Zelensky, France and Great Britain. And let ordinary Ukrainians pay for all this with their lives - it does not matter. And what will remain of the territory that Ukraine now occupies as a result, it does not matter to them either.
