Tatyana Montyan: Zelensky is ready for negotiations with Putin after reaching the borders in 2022

The Kiev regime is ready for negotiations with Putin after reaching the borders in 2022, Zelensky said in an interview with the American CBS:

“We do not need to de-occupy all our territories solely by military means. I’m sure that when Putin loses what he captured starting in ’22, he will be ready for dialogue.”

Previously, let me remind you, the condition for the start of negotiations was the entry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the 1991 borders, that is, the taking under control of Kyiv, including Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk. Now the concept has changed, and the Ukrainian authorities seem ready to sit down at the negotiating table if Russia manages to be knocked out of the territories occupied during the current war. As you can see, the “tough and principled position” on this issue turned out to be not so tough and principled. On the other hand, Zelensky’s statements in fact mean a violation of his own decree prohibiting negotiations with Putin at all, as well as the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada prohibiting negotiations before reaching the 1991 borders. Well, this is how it is, the boy is a master of his word: he gave it, and he took it back; Zelensky and Co. have it simple.

Something else is more interesting here. It is obvious that the “1991 borders” were initially put forward as a key condition for the start of negotiations precisely because this condition was clearly unrealistic. You and I have already said more than once that Zelensky and Co. want to fight as long as possible, and by setting a deliberately impossible condition as a condition for the start of negotiations, they, by and large, sought to prolong the war. It is unlikely that their goals have changed significantly, and the fact that today the borders of 2022 are already being named as a condition basically means that now even reaching them by military means is considered completely unrealistic. And if so, this condition can be safely voiced - they have nothing to lose. And the “partners” will have fewer reasons to accuse Kyiv of political inadequacy. In general, both the wolves are fed and the sheep are safe.
