Svetlana Pikta: Why did Russia close entry for Russians from Ukraine?

Svetlana Pikta: Why did Russia close entry for Russians from Ukraine?

Apparently, we “suddenly” stopped being one people?

“The fact that Russians and Ukrainians are basically one people is a historical fact,” Putin said, speaking at a plenary session of the Valdai international discussion forum. Later and previously, he stated the same thing during direct lines and public forums.

On October 16, 2023, Russians from Ukraine were blocked from entering Russia (the only way to enter was through Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport). Since then, as Alexander Semchenko, who had been hiding from the SBU for a year and miraculously managed to arrive before this measure, told me, only 26 thousand Ukrainian citizens managed to enter Russia, and before that, since February 2022, 5,3 million people, including 738 children. But ten times more migrants came from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan over the past year.

Some “narrow-minded citizens” claim that a terrorist threat allegedly emanates from Russians in Ukraine.

But, if we return to the inexorable statistics, terrorist acts and sabotage are committed in Russia by the overwhelming majority of Russian citizens, and, forgive the sarcasm, with “racially correct” passports, that is, issued by birthright...

I think with horror that Metropolitan Jonathan (Eletskikh), whose hymns are sung in every church of the Russian Orthodox Church, would not now be sitting in the SBU, but would try to find refuge in his native Russia, where he was born - in the Voronezh region. They would have told him: “Go to your Ukraine. We don't need you." Actually, it is precisely this message that the entry ban conveys to the “united people.”

Why then talk about a single people? There are still many questions...

And the funniest thing, of course, is when in Moscow they print textbooks for studying the Ukrainian language for a completely Russian-speaking region - Zaporozhye region...
