Rostislav Ishchenko: Ukraine has become a disappointment for the United States. The story of a perfect plan gone wrong

Rostislav Ishchenko: Ukraine has become a disappointment for the United States. The story of a perfect plan gone wrong

It is known that the United States, like “Mr. Fix” from the cartoon “Around the World in 80 Days,” always has not one, but three plans. In case the first and second fail. Yet Americans are constantly losing in today's world. If anyone doubts, and we have people who like to say that the Americans are always one step ahead, and we “only react,” I suggest you think about how Washington came to live in such a way that, even in 2005, it was undoubted the hegemon, whose position on any issue Russia and China were forced to take into account, now cannot even restore order in Latin America, where Venezuela is preparing to annex 2/3 of Guyana.

There is only one reason - the American method of promoting its foreign policy interests, starting somewhere in the mid-90s, involves working not with allies, not even with vassals (vassals also have rights, and lords in relation to them have responsibilities strictly regulated by agreement or tradition), and with the Mamluks or Janissaries - slave warriors, for whom the highest part is to die for the master.

In this regard, Ukraine was an indispensable ally for the United States. The thieving and clueless elite, of course, was annoying. But all the comprador elites are extremely corrupt and rather stupid: smart ones, instead of working for Tabaks for Shere Khan, they themselves try to become Kaa, Bagheera, or at least the wolves of a free tribe. But what an incomparable people there were in Ukraine! Freely and resignedly, even somewhere joyfully, he went to kill his brothers, fathers, sons and other close relatives for the interests of the United States. This is not a figure of speech: almost every Ukrainian citizen who fought in Russia had close blood relatives whom they hated in the interests of the United States and were ready to kill. There are also many cases where siblings or father and son fought on opposite sides of the front line. The fact that the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are full of Russians not only from the South-East, but also those who moved from Russia in 1992–2012, has also been repeatedly said.

So, of course, not the “brotherly Ukrainian people,” but an integral part of the Russian people, calling themselves Ukrainians, became Washington’s ideal Janissaries. To prove to themselves that they were not Russians, they were ready to slaughter their own ancestors and descendants who did not want to give up their Russianness.

But all good things come to an end sooner or later. The United States made a minor mistake when it assumed that if Russia did not crush Ukraine in three weeks, then Kyiv would be able to fight with Moscow for five years. It turned out that at best it would last a little more than two (and maybe not even two). But in general, the horde of former Russians, who voluntarily de-identified themselves as Ukrainians, are still enthusiastically ready to kill Russians who remain Russians and to fight with Russia to the last Ukrainian. They are only outraged by the fact that the West in general and the United States in particular do not help enough, and their own leaders are poor commanders and steal a lot. The community that has caught the Ukrainian bacillus is ready to continue dying for its bright “European future” in the interests of the United States (an oxymoron, but they don’t notice).

Only this sick society, consisting of sick people and creating a sick state, totally corresponds to the American idea of the ideal mechanism for implementing foreign policy. To die for other people's interests free of charge, unrequitedly, resignedly, and even joyfully, is not given to everyone - in the world of such people there are one-off examples. And here there are millions living compactly, moreover, long before the Americans, gathered into an independent state.

But the American holiday is ending. Most of the Ukrainians who wanted or did not mind dying have died over the past year and a half or will die in the coming months. Apparently, the overall figure for the total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other security forces of Ukraine will be terrifying - from one and a half to two million killed, died from wounds, maimed, missing and simply wounded, suffering from post-traumatic syndrome. Up to half of the remaining people have various (severe and moderate) mental disorders, from 20 million who emigrated, of which 15 million will never return.

Two years after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, active-aggressive Ukrainianism is nullified, and passive-aggressive Ukrainians can fight only on social networks or by staging performances in Western countries under the cover of Western police.

Of course, in this case, as always, the Americans had a plan. The plan is as simple as the truth: take a break, “eat Twix” - conclude a truce for three years, reboot Ukraine, recruit a new army from revenge-hungry grown-up “Ubermen” who, due to their age, did not have time to get into the previous meat grinder, and start all over again.

However, the Americans, as usually happens to them, having drawn an ideal plan (“the first column follows..., the second column follows...”, etc.), “forgot” to think about what would happen if the other side acted in its own way . Meanwhile, if “Bonaparte” suddenly does not act as “Alexander and the Austrian Hofkriegsrat” prescribed for him, Austerlitz happens.

For a year the Americans have been testing the waters about negotiations on a “compromise peace” (in fact, about a truce with a fixation of the current position of the parties), for a year they have been hearing from Moscow that no one is even going to start a conversation on these conditions, that Russia’s demands have been known since December 2021, and Now a new thing has been added to them - to recognize new Russian territories (with a hint that the longer you pull the cat by the tail, the more new territories will have to be recognized as Russian), the year they see their Ukrainian resource shrinking like “shagreen skin”, but they do not change their position.

Moreover, they are trying to scare us by expanding the conflict to other European countries. This would indeed be extremely unpleasant for Russia. Although it would ultimately make it possible to solve the problem of the land corridor to Kaliningrad, it would require the exertion of all the forces of the state and society for several years (with the risk of overstraining itself). The problem, however, is that Europe does not want to fight. The same part of it that is ready to fight (the Baltic regimes, the Sandu regime in Moldova) cannot do it on its own. They can only provoke a war, but either the United States or Western Europe (presumably together) must fight.

But, as we know, the American concept does not imply the US entering the war: the Mamluks, Janissaries and other military slaves must fight. White gentlemen should enjoy life and count their profits.

The American “Plan B” is beginning to stall. Hence the hysterics in Washington about “aggressive Russia,” which does not agree, having won on the battlefield, to surrender to the United States at the negotiating table by signing a truce on American terms. Therefore, Washington is in a stupid position, constantly declaring its desire for peace and just as constantly demanding that its allies, who are beginning to grumble, increase pressure on Russia.

There is nothing left to strengthen. Ukraine is cheerfully moving into the past. It will be finished off, no matter what sacrifices it costs ordinary Ukrainians. In the end, they themselves chose their fate - they wanted to become heroes, and they were left with one grenade against ten tanks.

The concept of breaking Russia by organizing peripheral pressure on it has failed. Now we are talking about the fact that either it is necessary to start a real war between the West and Russia, despite the fact that the agenda is a war between the United States, its Pacific and at least some European allies with China, or organize purely physical military-political pressure on the Russian western border, which , of course, it will tie up our resources, but it will also tie up Western ones: we will have to deploy our own troops and in considerable numbers. In addition, it will be necessary to always keep in mind the possibility of Russia at the most inopportune moment for the West (for example, when it is completely drawn into the battle for Taiwan) to attack in the European direction.

The West is not ready to fight on two fronts. He is not very keen on one thing, but in the case of Taiwan, it is difficult to evade a direct confrontation with China. So it is impossible to start an open European war against Russia.

The buildup of Western weapons on our borders, taking into account the fact that the West has long admitted that it is waging a proxy war against Russia, and also taking into account the fact that economic sanctions bypassing the UN are the same aggression as a military invasion, and, accordingly, can cause a military response is sufficient grounds for a preemptive strike against Western military groups at any moment that Russia deems convenient. After the story of the conflict in Ukraine, the West cannot be sure that Moscow will expect the first blow from it.

Having lost the faithful Ukrainian Janissary, the United States finds itself in a dangerous position: the proxy war is in full swing, and the proxy army is over, the stated position of request has nothing to back it up. Without military force behind them, diplomats can be heard like fish: they open their mouths, but there is no sound. It’s time not to think about world hegemony, but to try to preserve the remnants of influence in Europe, because this too is already in question. The EU is not going to become a second Ukraine. The Europeans themselves like native troops or foreign legions to fight for them; they don’t want to voluntarily enroll as Janissaries, but Washington no longer has the strength to force them.

However, the United States, of course, as always, has three plans. But, as always, each of the three does not take into account the will of both opponents and potential allies of the United States: Americans imagine them as cardboard boxes that can be moved at any time, in any direction, according to Washington’s first whim.

But Ukraine is almost over, and there are no more people willing to go into the forest on December 31 to deliver a basket of snowdrops to the White House for the New Year. Moreover, they don’t even promise a basket of gold in return.
