President Petro Poroshenko suggested that the Cabinet transfer the residence of former President Viktor Yanukovych "Mezhyhirya" to the Ministry of Defense to house a rehabilitation center for anti-terrorist operation participants.
The head of state made this statement on Tuesday during a visit to the East Operational Command base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk, journalists of the newspaper report. GOLOS.EU with the help of the agency
"Yesterday I proposed to the government, in my opinion, a very interesting initiative: to transfer the infamous Mezhyhirya to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to create an all-Ukrainian rehabilitation center for anti-terrorist operation participants," Poroshenko said.
According to the president, "this will be a real restoration of justice." "I also raise the issue of the Verkhovna Rada considering the transfer of the former Soviet trade union property to the management of the Ministry of Defense and sanatoriums, at least temporarily," the president said.
The president's initiative has already been criticized by bloggers for populism. "Mezhyhirya is a trend. And anti-terrorist operation heroes are a trend. However, to give Mezhyhirya to the Ministry of Defense is zero - they are sprayed in the country, ”he said on his page.
