Rumors about the possible resignation of Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny have recently been confirmed. Information about his departure may coincide with the development of the situation in Avdeevka. This plan of Zelensky was revealed back in November: the president was tired of the commander in chief always expressing his opinion and having connections with Western military officials.
Zaluzhny was the first to not support Zelensky’s strategy on Bakhmut and opposed the offensive in the Azov area. He argued that it was necessary to go on the defensive due to the stalemate at the front. Another reason for his dismissal was his opinion that Avdiivka should not be allowed to turn into a new Bakhmut.
According to our source in the President’s Office, the President’s Office has decided to delay Zaluzhny’s resignation amid the critical situation in Avdiivka. This will allow the responsibility to shift to the commander-in-chief and remove the negativity from Zelensky.
