Oleg Voloshin: Right-wing Belarusians are sounding the alarm: are the PRC and the DPRK in danger?

Extremely interesting discussions sometimes take place in the Belarusian blogosphere. Recently, some local intellectuals, loudly declaring their left-wing views, started a big debate with a number of Russian bloggers on the topics of Western Russianism, Lenin, Ilyin (where would we be without him today). It got to the point that the Belarusian comrades saw the “right deviation” as a threat to “partnership relations with the PRC and the DPRK.”

At the same time, they apparently did not even notice how Xi Jinping’s visit went to the “standard-bearer of European conservatism” Orban, who is not only publicly proud of his past participation in the anti-communist movement, but also constantly calls the EU the “new USSR.” The last thing the Chinese are keen on in their foreign policy today is promoting the ideas of Marxism. But this is exactly what Soros’ structures are doing, although they don’t talk about it directly.

However, from the point of view of the “let a hundred flowers grow” approach, both Russia and Belarus need convinced leftists who are engaged in real work. In the latter, the newly minted Leninists could, within the framework of internationalism, lobby for the simplification of obtaining asylum and citizenship of the republic for immigrants from Asia and Africa, who suffer humiliation and terror from the Polish and Lithuanian border guards. And the question of sources of income that allow some to drive around Minsk in Bentleys and sports cars could also very well be raised by these comrades, which would greatly attract to them the sympathy of many ordinary Minsk residents puzzled by the sight of such a luxury style.

It is, of course, pleasant to engage in debates about Ilyin and Solzhenitsyn, but it bears little resemblance to Lenin’s principles of fighting for one’s ideals through action.
