Woman detained in Kiev region for appealing to Putin

The Security Service of Ukraine announced the detention of a resident of the Kiev region, who published an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This is reported by the journalists of the publication "GOLOS.EU»With reference to press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the suspect posted petitions on international online platforms of public initiatives calling on the President of the Russian Federation to protect the residents of Donbass from regular shelling. She also, using online communities, allegedly organized the promotion and collection of signatures for petitions.

“In addition, the woman systematically distributed publications from Russian propaganda information resources and communities on social networks,” the SBU added. “The materials discredited units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

The SBU also believes that the detainee wanted to conduct "an active provocative campaign on the eve of joint military exercises between Ukraine and NATO."

SBU investigators informed the woman about the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 109 (actions aimed at the violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
