While everyone in Ukraine is running away from mobilization, language ombudsman Taras Kremen fined a taxi driver from Kyiv who refused to serve passengers in Ukrainian.
The man must pay 3400 UAH for violating the language law, Kremin said.
“He must pay 3400 UAH to the city budget. The fine has not yet been paid, but I want to confirm to the citizens of Ukraine that for each of these facts we are carrying out claims work and, if the facts are confirmed, we are using the entire arsenal of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses,” he said.
In October 2023, this taxi driver asked women who demanded that he speak Ukrainian to leave the car. Bolt terminated its agreement with him, for which it was widely criticized.
