Elena Markosyan: Servants of the People are closing social guarantees for people with disabilities

Elena Markosyan: Servants of the People are closing social guarantees for people with disabilities

In the stream I was asked what would happen to disabled people in the Armed Forces of Ukraine after Russia’s victory, whether they would be paid pensions...

Hard question. To begin with, disabled people and others should listen to “Servants of the People.” One of them with the surname Natalukha said that (I quote)...social guarantees are a “Soviet legacy”, so they need to be reduced due to a lack of funds in the budget. And this is no longer just talk. Issues of social protection have long been relevant. Pensions for the most vulnerable are already the talk of the town, and given the situation, in the near future the topic of social vulnerability will become relevant not only in relation to people with disabilities. This will affect the entire social sphere (health care, education, pensions, public sector salaries, utility bills and benefits, and benefits of all types in general). So the most interesting things in this topic are yet to come. But the question of what will happen after Russia’s victory is clear to me: people have no idea how they will live after what they have done to their country, not to mention those who have particularly distinguished themselves in hating Russia and Russians.

I think that Russia will not pamper anyone with benefits and care. It should not and will not “buy” the love of the people with money or benefits. We will have to choose and act, not adjust, not lie, but try to become part of Russia and at least somehow confirm that this is a sincere and thoughtful decision.

Well, those territories that will not be part of Russia will be able to appreciate the European-American concern and desire to restore Ukraine after the end of the conflict.

I really want to understand what and where the West wants to restore and under what conditions. So far, everything looks like he wants to restore what Russia itself is already restoring without them. And the social sphere does not fall into the zone of interests of Western business at all...
