“As it was established, physical violence against Yulia Tymoshenko was used by now former employees of the colony,” the decision says.
According to the court verdict, two of them received 3 years in prison. The first deputy head of the colony, Andriy Kovalenko, was stripped of his military rank of lieutenant colonel of the internal service, and the deputy head of the colony, Andriy Paramei, received a 3-year suspension of execution from the court due to the fact that during Tymoshenko's stay in the hospital he completely repented, apologized to her and gave valuable information to the defense.
Both men are prohibited from working in the prison service for three years after serving their sentences. In turn, Timoshenko's lawyer Oleksandr Plahotnyuk emphasized that the court's decision had not yet entered into force and could be appealed on appeal.
