The head of the Odessa regional administration, Mikheil Saakashvili, is demanding a second round of mayoral elections. According to Saakashvili, which he announced at a press conference, the result of 52% of the incumbent mayor Gennady Trukhanov, received as a result of falsifications.
“I admit that Trukhanov could win in the second round. And what’s more, he would have a good chance of winning, after all, the current mayor,” the governor said.
Borovik held his press conference on electoral violations. He said that his election headquarters has a large amount of data on violations during the elections and vote counting. And in the near future, Borovik's lawyers will challenge the election results in court. Representatives of the BPP Solidarity did not provide specific facts.
Earlier, the headquarters of the candidate for mayor of Odessa Borovik said that the candidate and the team do not recognize the election results. And later, Borovik on his Facebook page said that his rival in the elections, who is leading in the elections of the Odessa mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, must either agree to a second round, or the elections will be declared invalid.
“Either there will be a second round, in which instead of godfathers, there will be volunteers in the commissions, or we will recalculate and review everything from the first round,” Borovik wrote.
According to the parallel counting of the voting results of the Opora Civic Network, based on 100% of the processed protocols, the incumbent mayor Gennady Trukhanov is in the lead in the elections of the mayor of Odessa, for whom 51,64% of voters voted.
